We've held a block of hotel rooms in the French Quarter, and we’ll plan a few site visits.

At Louis Armstrong International Airport, there is a taxi stand that can take you to the French Quarter in approximately 30 minutes for $45. Public buses and ride-share also available.
In the city, walking, bikeshare, rideshare & streetcars can get you around the French Quarter, Treme, Marigny & Bywater neighborhoods.
For our trip to Whitney Plantation, we’ll arrange roundtrip transportation (1-hour ride each way).

We have held a block of rooms at the Hotel St. Pierre in the French Quarter, at a discounted rate of $239/night. (Many hotels this weekend run $300-500. It’s Mardi Gras season!)

When you register for the fieldtrip below, we’ll share the secret password to book your room! Queen, King & Double Rooms available.
We have selected Hotel St. Pierre because it is charming & historic with a courtyard pool — and is located in a quiet part of the Quarter, within walking distance of two Mardi Gras parades.
You are also more than welcome to find your own lodging! Book early, rooms fill up this time of year.

There are two Mardi Gras parades happening this weekend that we look forward to enjoying — Krewe du Kanaval and Krewe du Barkus.
The Krewe du Kanaval on Friday, led by Preservation Hall and Arcade Fire, celebrates the city’s Haitian heritage and raises funds for humanitarian work in Haiti & New Orleans through the Preservation Hall Foundation and KANPE.
For Krewe du Barkus on Sunday, we have a private balcony viewing spot along the route!

We’ll be honest: On a scale from mellow to decadent, we’re on the mellow side! We enjoy the parades for their artistry, history & beauty. If you’re looking for more party, the Hotel St. Pierre is just 2 blocks from Bourbon Street. :)

WHAT DOES IT COST TO REGISTER?
$150 per guest, to cover site visit coordination
SO I BOOK MY OWN FLIGHT & HOTEL?
Yes! You choose the arrival & departure times & rates that work best for you.
We recommend arriving Friday morning and departing Sunday evening for our activities.
(Of course you are also welcome to stay longer!)
CAN I BRING GUESTS?
Yes! Bring a buddy. Friends, family & colleagues most welcome.
HOW WILL WE GET AROUND THE CITY?
Walking, bike share & ride share.
WHAT IF I WANT TO DO MY OWN THING?
You're welcome to branch off for your own tours, exhibits, shows, meals or other activities!
We’ll set some times for group meetups, otherwise we want you to enjoy & explore…
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL?
Our registration fee is non-refundable, so we can confirm site visits.
But any flights or lodging that you book yourself are up to you!
