Spring 2020
ARE YOU feeling alone?
Do you know someone who may feel alone?
We want to listen.
Times marked by uncertainty demand the balm of human connection, as we look towards each other to keep our stories, memories, pains, and longings alive.
Yet, long before COVID-19 came to our doorsteps, many in our community were already written out of society's connective tissue—the same one we're now all clambering to restore via Zoom.
They are our neighbors isolated by the confinements of prison, age, or illness.
We dug deep into how we at Urban Consulate Cincinnati can meaningfully meet this moment and concluded that the often overlooked or forgotten members of our city's social fabric need concerted attention and connection.
Each weekday, the Urban Consulate will host an hour of generous 1-on-1 listening space with those who need it most. At a time when it's sensible to keep our distance, this is an opportunity to connect, share, and remember our collective humanity, one relationship at a time.
As our world’s vitality shifts each day, we remember that social change, in its brightest moments, can breed new levels of receptivity. May this simple gesture lead to more open hearts, for the sake of our city.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Naimah, Gee, and Meg
