How do we create more opportunity for non-college bound young people in Detroit to connect to the city's economy as it revitalizes?
Join us in the parlor with artist & master craftsman Carlos Nielbock, founder of CAN Art Handworks, an architectural metalwork studio on Detroit's east side, where he has been recreating the artistry of Detroit's past for 30 years. Having not been inclined towards higher education himself, Neilbock benefited from opportunities to apply the skilled trades—and he wants to create these opportunities for others. Now he's working to build the foundation of a homegrown industry in green energy technology—with a focus on using the people & resources already within the city.
