Join us in the parlor with Salvador Salort-Pons, director, president & CEO of the Detroit Institute of Arts. Salort-Pons succeeded Graham W. J. Beal on October 2015, after serving in the DIA's curatorial division. He strongly believes the DIA is poised to move forward in engaging the museum’s local and regional communities as well as advancing its international profile, and is committed to making the DIA’s extraordinary art collection relevant to broad and diverse audiences. He envisions the DIA as a place for scholarly research, a leader in learning and interpretation, and the main square of the community where all will be welcomed, represented and united. A native of Madrid, he holds a master’s in geography and history (University of Madrid), a master’s in business administration (Cox School of Business, SMU) and a doctorate in the history of art (University of Bologna).
