Join us in the parlor with Dr. Joneigh S. Khaldun, Director and Health Officer for the City of Detroit Health Department. When Dr. Khaldun assumed the role earlier this year, she faced quite the challenge -- Detroit was named the least healthy city in America. Since then she has launched new public health initiatives including SisterFriends, an effort to reduce pre-term births and infant mortality by matching young moms with mentors, and Lead Safe Detroit, a central clearinghouse for all of the city’s lead-related activities. Come learn about her work to improve public health in the city, and how we all can help.
