HOW TO BE AN UPSTANDER

  • Barrington's White House 145 West Main Street Barrington USA (map)

Back by popular demand — The language we use, and how we treat one another, matters deeply. When confronted with words or behaviors that are harmful, how can we best respond? Join Courageous Conversations for an interactive practice session with one of our favorite bridge-builders and teachers Jenan Mohajir, Senior Director of Special Projects for Interfaith America. Inspired by her faith and family to work for change at the intersections of gender, sexuality, race, and religion, Jenan has served in leadership at IA for 15 years where she has trained hundreds of interfaith leaders from diverse backgrounds to foster a vision and practice of civically engaged interfaith leadership. This session is a follow-up to our popular 2020 session, Confronting Prejudice, also led by Jenan. Hosted by Rev. Dr. Zina Jacque and Jessica Green at Barrington's White House.

Courageous Community is presented by Urban Consulate at Barrington's White House and made possible by your ticket purchase and generous support from Jessica & Dominic Green, Kim Duchossois, Tyler & Danielle Lenczuk, Cobey & Erich Struckmeyer, Susan & Rich Padula, Julie Kanak & Mike Rigali, Barrington Area Community Foundation, and BMO Wealth Management.
